Moderate · 6–7 hours with stops · last walked September 2026
The long climb through spruce forest is the whole workout; once you reach the open
meadows the walking is gentle and the views across the ridges make up for the start.
It is a popular route, so on a clear weekend you will rarely be alone.
Timing
Forest section: about two hours up, steady and shaded.
Meadows: an hour of wandering; there is no single "summit".
Descent: faster, but hard on the knees when the path is dusty.
What I would do differently
Start before nine. Afternoon cloud builds over the ridges most summer days.
Carry more water than seems sensible — I finished two litres and wanted more.
