Day-hike list
Nothing here is special. The point of the list is to stop forgetting the boring things.
Always
- Two litres of water, three in July
- Wind shell and a thin fleece, whatever the forecast says
- Sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
- Small first-aid kit with blister plasters
- Offline map on the phone and a charged power bank
- Something salty to eat
Sometimes
- Trekking poles for long descents
- Spare socks for gorge walks with stream crossings
- Head torch from September on — the days get short quickly
Stopped carrying
- A heavy camera. The phone is good enough for a log like this.
